Position Description & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of GTG Infrastructure & IT Support Services, the GTG Project Manager provides technology leadership and hands-on management of key projects related to IT operations and infrastructure for the internal corporate systems. 

 

This role will be responsible for executing strategies and ensuring organizational and client expectations are being satisfied. There will be an expectation of collaborating with the team to identify the approach, deliverables, schedule and tools to deliver the project within established constraints. The project manager will be the client point-of-contact for project-related issues and will work with/support other members of the Dynatrace team to obtain and document client sign-off at key points during the project. The project manager will be responsible for ensuring that these projects meet or exceed internal team & client expectations and are delivered on-time and on-budget.

 

 

Other responsibilities of the project manager include

 

  • Responsible for the definition of the project business requirements, analysis, and design; facilitate decision making sessions for project specific architecture, business strategy, operational processes, business processes and organizational requirements
  • Coordinate project activities including establishing schedules, assigning tasks, monitoring and resolving conflicts
  • Accountable for the project Risk, Issue, and Change Management processes, analysis, reporting and escalation
  • Facilitate executive status meetings with the Business Sponsor and Steering Committee during which, the project progress will be reviewed, issues discussed for resolution and raise any material changes to scope, budget or schedule
  • Developing, maintaining, reviewing and/or disseminating all project documentation
  • Defining, managing and controlling project scope  
  • Contributing to content and presentation of deliverables
  • Estimating project costs and timelines around multiple disciplines involved with project delivery
  • Assisting with efforts to support product development, proofs-of-concept, and requests from business development (RFP responses)
  • Responsible for managing multiple large and complex projects at one time
  • Obtain stakeholder buy-in and proactively manage expectations throughout the project
  • Responsible for vendor relationships throughout the project ensuring outsourced tasks meet contract expectations, firm standards and are delivered on time
  • Assist with the development of RFIs and RFPs as required to enable third party solutions and IT services
  • Assist with Portfolio planning and process improvements
  • Adhere to and promote PMO standard project management tools, procedures and best practices
  • Meet with project stakeholders to clearly capture business requirements, critical milestones, and dependencies - may require travel to other offices
  • Coordinate the creation and follow up of project related surveys and end-user communications that clearly explain technical concepts using non-technical language

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
  • A minimum of 3-5 years successfully managing large and complex IT projects from inception to completion, overseeing direct / indirect reports and vendors. 12+ years of IT experience
  • Agile methodology expertise, with recent and verifiable experience managing Agile projects
  • Experience with product development and production support
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project documentation expertise
  • Deep knowledge of project management tools
  • Exposure to contract negotiation/review
  • Strong understanding of project management principles / methodology; preferred current Project Management certification such as PMP, Prince 2, Master’s Certificate or other certification / degree in project management
  • Proficient with MS-Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project
  • Willing to challenge the status quo
  • Extremely strong client-service skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure; ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities
  • Team awareness - recognizes and understands both personal and team dynamics and relationships; empathetic to stakeholder concerns; recognizes motivational issues and effectively influences more desirable outcomes or provides incentive as necessary
  • Pragmatic and flexible in project management approach, tailoring their style to the needs of their projects, teams, and business partners
  • Strong business analysis skills and strategic thinker; experience managing high risk projects
  • Strong understanding of technology, architecture, development and quality assurance
  • Must be a US person (resident or citizen)
  • Demonstrated organization and team building skills
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business or Computer Science; or equivalent, MBA a plus
  • Proven project management expertise
  • PMP, ITIL certification desirable
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
